What does a basic timeline for a project look like?
There are several important stages in the Project process:
- Project creation - A composer creates and provides information for a project.
-
Project promotion - Once a composer makes their project public, it will show up in the marketplace. The composer can also invite Ensembles to be Project Members. Once an Ensemble is a Project Member, they can also invite prospective Project Members.
-
Funded Project - Once a Project reaches its member goal, it is considered funded. Project Members are charged the agreed-upon buy-in fee, per their chosen payment method, either once the member goal is reached or immediately after joining a Project that has already reached its member goal. These fees are held until project completion.
-
Project completion - The Composer uploads the score on or before the delivery deadline. Project members have a window of time to review the score and, following no complications within this window, the score is considered final.
-
Composer payment - Once the project is complete and the score considered final, Consortio contacts the composer for payment/tax information and is paid all respective buy-in fees via check within two weeks of receiving that information.
-
Project performances - Following the completion of the project, all project members have nine months with exclusive rights to premiere the work starting when they receive the final score or the set release date of the project, whichever is later.
